    D2 TD5 Auto Faults listing

    I know there has been a lot of dicsussion regarding D2 TD5 Auto faults in a number of threads but is there a central listing for all potential faults so one can carry out all preventative measures before taking on a trip.
    I need to decide soon whether it is worth keeping the D2 with 150000 km on it , as I've done a few things to upgrade and get prepped for trips and repairs also.

    The repairs I can recall having done or read about are;

    1. Auto replaced under warranty at 70000km. Had a strange vibration when locking up in high under light load. Done under warranty.Had ongoing probs for some time with M&S lights but probably due to dodgy mech work in refitting wiring.
    2. Fuel line over tank split. Done under warranty.
    3. Harmonic balancer disentergated at at about 100000kms. Just came off and engine vibrated badly.
    4. Engine fuel injection block? Replaced.
    5. 4 new shockers at 138000 km.
    6 Replace radiator. Not mine but heard it should be done.
    7. Transmission line fail at crimp joint. Mine.
    8. Fuel pump failure.
    9. Rotors replaced at 130000 km.
    10. Air suspension bags and pump?

    I will do a search and see what else I can find.
    May be time to upgrade to a D3 TDV6 ?

    Pete

    BTW

    It is a D2A , 04 Model.

    Just a couple more that come to mind.

    1. Oil in ECU loom . ( never been an issue for me yet!)
    2. 3 amigos ( Never had that either. Did around 1000kms on Ood track and Merenie loop and other rough dirt road /corrugations stuff )
    3. Top radiator hose air bleed fitting ( had that repalced during pre trip check)
    4. Fit coolant temp alarm as factory computer settings are
    a. Warm up
    b. Operating Temp
    c. Very , very hot , too bad , too late !!
    4. MAF gets dirty and plays up
    5. Double Cardan Joint
    6. TD 5 engine that has ingested too much duct is a long term no go.
    7. Front left tie rod joint? ( Had that done during pre trip inspection too )

    I guess the crux of the post is

    I have about a year to go on the lease, do I ;

    1. Trade in for a TDV6 D3.
    2. Get whatever needs doing , done over the next year to make it reliable and utilise all the extra bits I have bought or had done. This gives a comfortable , safe ( air bags, ABS etc ) with good aircon etc and hope that nothing else will go wrong with computers etc and get a nice little 2 seater , sporty soft top to run around in during the week and save tye D2 for trips.
    3. Go back to basics and restore the 86 County Isuzu and have a mechanicaly simple but basic unit???

    Can someone direct me to a previous post where all D2 faults were listed?
