Send a PM to "Leeds". He has a rear winch in his Defender, and put a lot of thought into it. His real name is Brendon BTW, and I haven't seen him posting lately, but a PM should get him.

I start the steel work this weekend making my rear bar for my D2 should have it finished by sunday ,but i am considering making provisions for a rear mounted winch, has any of you out there done it and what would be the extras which you included ,we will obviesly ensure there is extra support and strength in the entire bar esspecially where the winch will be and the attachments to the chassis will have to be consideribly stronger, any input will be much appreciated

Kelvin, try Pete (psimpson7) as well, he is in our club as well. He did one in his 90, you can get all the ins and outs from him.
