    Smile

I did it to my 3 year old. Got home one arvo, forgot she was in the car with me, about five minutes later the alarms go off. Lots of tears. She obviously stayed very still for some reason then it all went pear shaped. Lucky really. I thought she was with her mother...

So glad it's not just me!!!
So far I've had flys, moths, my dog and the magic tree hanging in the back attemp to rob me...
Don't know what I did in my sleep stopping the alarm the other night but the car was still all deffensive next morning! I had to get out and lock with before it would let me unlock with the remote and therefor disable the immobiliser!!!

The worst thing I had on mine other than the alarm going of regularly was when the battery went in the fob.

You can not disable the alarm by just unocking the door with the key, you need a code that you put into the door lock by turning your key a number of times left, then a number of times right etc. I think the code on mine was something like 12 or 14 digits long.

It does seem to be a well thought out alarm system though.

    dunno about the alarm,,,
but it/they will stop you restarting the car quite well!

you usually only need to roll it away 20 ft for it to start up

    Damn.
My alarm has gone off a couple times in the last 24 hours for no apparent reason.
    It never has before.
Could it be because a chemist just moved in next door?
I wish I could remember how to reset the alarm. At moment I just run outside in a panic and turn locks and things until it stops.
Looks like a search is in order.

Hi Iv'e already put up a post about my recent experiance, I walked over to my D2 at lunch time pushed the remote and nothing? There was a tilt tray delivering a small roller to the job site, the tilt tray was operated by a remote, the Disco would not unlock or disarm when I just used the key the alarm went off.

As soon as the tilt tray left all was well ! I have also heard that a local Land Rover place has a policey of not leaving keys in the ignition due to the vehicles locking when a simular tow truck drops off a not to healthy one.

Well....all okay until 3.34 this morning. The horn goes off for 30 seconds (cycles on and off at 1 second intervals), then nothing for a few seconds, then it goes off for another 30 seconds etc.
I tried pressing the fob switches but that did nothing. This is odd as any of the fob switches should silence the alarm.
Had to go outside and use the key to cancel the alarm. I left the car unlocked for the rest of the night.
I'm almost positive there are no animals living inside the car moving around, although cats seem to like climbing over it. Could this set it off? Are there any other possibilities? Is it worth disconnecting the sensors, are they known to be dodgy?
The car is parked directly under our neighbours bedroom window - they must be impressed.
P.S. I made a search but came up with no solutions other than things moving about in the cabin.

    D2 HORN / ALARM GREMLIN?

My 2000 D2 Landrover TD5 awoke us Sun night with the horn blaring at 2am. Went on for about 10 minutes before I got it off by puting the key in the ignition (remote keypad didn't seem to disable it). It wasn't the actual alarm as the lights weren't flashing and the engine would actually start while the horn was blaring? Went back to bed and it happened again about an hour later. Found a spanner and disconnected the battery. Next morning got it running and used the car. Mon night the whole thing happened again and I disconnected the battery again. Vehicle now parked down the back with the battery disconnected. Any suggestions? Could it be linked to a loose positive battery terminal lead as even when the hex nut is completely tight, you can still just turn the clamp on the terminal??
