Using a 3-track throttle in older D2
I've been given conflicting info about the feasibility of using the newer 3-track throttle in the older (EU2) D2 that has a 2-track throttle.
RAVE states that the newer 3-track throttle cannot be used in the older car. My local LR garage also told me this and sold me a used 2-track throttle.
I've also been told that the 3-track throttle is the only one available from LR now.
Has anyone fitted a 3-track throttle to the earlier car, which I think would be the EU2 model with the non-flashable MSB prefix ECU?
Cheers, Andy

what year model is your D2?
with a nanocom you can change the settings of the throttle, between 2way or 3.
i changed the settings in a d2 5 days ago to 2 way (had a 3 way fitted) with a chipped ecu and it drove fine, ive been told that it wouldnt work at all, so i dont know why it did

As Phil says there is a seting in the options to change this. Changing a post 2002 NNNprefix 3 track default ecu to a 2 track will work fine. I have 2 spare ecus running that way.
With what you are trying to do though I am not certain. While i would like to think its possible, I am wondering if the earlier ECU programming wouldnt be aware of the different option throttles and therefore couldnt be changed to a later type.
There are a couple of people on here who shuld be able to give you a defiente anwser. Tombie and Pete from BAS

Thanks guys!
I have a year 2000 car that has a 2-track throttle. I couldn't find a new 2-track one for sale. I asked the local LR garage about tweaking my non flashable ECU for the 3 track throttle and they said that it couldn't be done. I'm not convinced though, so would like it confirmed here if possible.
If LR are in fact only selling the later 3 track type, it would be incredible if it couldn't be made to work with the early MSB ECU. If your throttle failed you'd then have to get a new nnn prefix ECU as well.
I wonder what the potentiometer is like inside and if it would be fixable? This part failing seems pretty common and is a total pain, as the car is effectively disabled. Mine went to idle with the engine check light on and wouldn't rev at all.
