The horn bolted to the firewall is more than likely a third horn, used for the alarm. The 2 main horns (one high & one low pitch) are usually behind the grill.

Yep, the horn by the firewall is for the alarm only, although the "early" TD5's dont have them.

Look through your grille Pedro Im sure you could see your horns and listen when somone tries em..... unless they dont work coz they are full of water

well that sorta makes sense,,
cos its the one on the firewall that blew my ears off when I had to use the key to unlock the door,,
