    Front Output Housing replacement

I am finally getting around to replacing the front output housing of my 2002 D2V8 with a CDL type.
I have had a good look through RAVE and although it has a procedure for the transfer case removal, I can't find any info for replacing the front housing only.
I understand this can be swapped over without the need to remove the whole transfer case.
For those who have been through this I have a few questions:
    - Is it possible to swap over the front housing without removing the transfer case?
    - If so, is there step by step instructions available for this?
    - Are there any other procedures that need to be done to ensure proper installation that could catch out the uninitiated.
    Cheers,
    Alan

Check this also.. Rover Tech - Land Rover Club V.I.
under rover tech menu, select modifications,a very useful pdf file for cdl installation.
Not very difficuly job,but very very big improvement for your disco!
As for wiring the light,on my disco even the plug was there, hidden on the harness above the gearbox,i just connected it to the difflock switch.
Yoy can follow the instructions from Urban Panzer for a D1 linkage http://www.discovery2.co.uk/D1_to_D2_cdl.html or for OEM (or ashcroft) linkage http://www.discovery2.co.uk/diff_lock.html with details for the wiring.
    Happy wrenching!
