Im led to believe this is quite common, so a Lot of guys in the US, weld them in place to stop it, cannot comment from personal experience as I aint got one (yet)
Hello again! Has anyone had problems with their ARB or any bar not sitting straight? mine dips down towards the ground about 25mm off level, I've losened the bolts and jacked it back up but only to find it back again a week later! Its a real pain for my spotties and UHF antenna leans forward and looks crap! Might need some spacers somewhere? Any suggestions? Regards Ted.

I had the same problem, most people use the correct bolts but only mild steel washers, try using HT washers .... it fixed mine.
Although with the bar parallel the UHF antenna still leans forward a little.
It sounds like there is a mismatch on the bolt/hole size.

After oil change on weekend noticed movement in bullbar--not too much--nipped up all bolts and nuts stopped movement, but did also notice washers really squashed up and spreading --high tensile umm !!!! thanks![]()
Hi all with the drooping ARB bars,
Your problems are is that the bars have not been fitted correctly, as you will find that a bolt is missing from each mount. This bolt runs vertically up through the mount bottom to top and through the chassis. There is only a hole in the bar mounts on the bottom side of the mount, with the through holes needing to be drilled all the way through per the instruction provided with the bar from ARB. The bolts here are slightly smaller than the 4 horizontal bolts so they will make it past these vertical bolts.
A friend helped me by mounting the ARB bar I acquired brand new and we thought we wouldn't need to instal these vertical bolts by using great pressure on the horizontal bolts. Wrong, ended up with the same results as you are all having. So recently pulled my finger out, drilled the required/instructed holes, and installed the required bolts. Problem fixed and the bar is now far more rigid than ever.
If is can help anyone with this give me a PM.
All the best.

Alas, not the "one fits all" solution I'm afraid. Mine has the vertical bolts fitted either side and still it tilts, albeit only slightly but enough to notice. There is no movement and it feels solid. Thanks for the tip though, it may help others.
Cheers

Not a problem Mick.
Another adjustment that I found if the bar was mounted correctly and solidly was that the eight bolts holding the bar to the crush cans if loosened slightly will allow for fine tuning to give you the even gap to the front guards.
Give it a try as it easy to do.
Again all the best.
Tony
Thanks guys!
This has been driving me nuts since I bought the car...I always thought it looked really ordinary, especially when you saw the tidy-fitting ones on Cruisers/Patrols et al.
I actually tought ARB had just not bothered to do much of a job of re-jigging it from the D1, and it was pot luck if it looked ok on 'your' car or not.
Now I will be investigating further...
Cheers
