    Front ACE gaiter replacement

Found a perforation of the rubber gaiter on the front ACE actuator and have bought a new one.
I read the RAVE instruction for the removal of the front assembly and have a couple of questions.
    - Must I have the special tool(LRT-60-009) to remove the actuator nut, or has someone found a way around this?
    - Is it necessary to do a system bleed using Testbook at completion? I don't happen to have one in the shed at the moment.
    - How much fluid is lost when changing the ACE filter, and when disconnecting the actuator?
Hmm, this may be a job for the local LR specialist.
    Cheers,

How much fluid is lost when changing the ACE filter, and when disconnecting the actuator? Not a lot when changing the filter www.discovery2.co.uk / ACE High pressure filter

Not directly related to replacement...but when I bought the Disco new in 2001, I wrapped the gaiter with a piece of truck inner-tube and fixed in place with a couple of electrical ties. Still allows full articulation.

So this is like having both "belt and braces".. as shield or double thickness gaiter.
I don't know how often the gaiters get damaged?
I figured it would protect against gaiter damage in rough scrub etc
    Worked so far.

    cheers
    Bob
