I asked the same question a while ago, did not want to buy the 245's and then regret it later as the 265's give even more under the diffs.
"imo" with a 2" lift the 265's look perfectly balanced under the arches.
Just got a D2 V8 and I am starting with the lift and new tyres. Cant decide if I should get 265's or 245's? I am not going to regear. Just concerned about power loss in 5th gear cruising on long trips. Ordered a XJs TJM lift and looking at Maxxis Bighorns or BFG muds.

Get th 265 in the BFG's (as long as it's the new BFG KM2's that is) otherwise go the big horns.
You will probably loose a little more than the 245s on the highway but they will definitely be worth it for offroad performance.
Shamo
get the 265`s i had 245`s before but the 265`s fill out the gaurds very nice the only thing i have noticed is if on full lock the insides rub just a little on the trailing arms ? (i think thats what they are called) i have since added 3inch`s of lift
Not conerned about speedo, more about powerloss.
I have 265's on my V8 D2. It's an Auto though, and I did notice the power loss and it feels a lot more than 10%. You will find it much better on dirt roads and rough tracks, and it will walk over most stuff.
This is what the Mickey Thompsons 265/75/16 look like.
And you will need to keep an eye on your speed, 10% is about 6 points as i found out on news years Eve.

Very nice, Disco's not too bad either.
What is this 'power loss' that you're talking about? Where did it go? I do understand that effectively, the gearing has changed.
If so, will a power chip or a modified ECU compensate this 'power loss'?
