    TD5 Air Flow Sensor Problems?

What are the symptoms if the air flow sensor is not operating on a Discovery 2 manual TD5?

Also where is the best place to buy a genuine part?

Mine had a stuttering like hitting a rev limiter at about 3500rpm, others have reported a loss of power below 2500rpm.

You can unplug the MAF sensor and the ECU will set a default value so the engine can continue to run. If your problem goes when you do this, and returns when you plug it back in then you can be pretty sure it's teh MAF sensor.

Get a genuine one for sure. Lots of complaints about cheaper replacements here in the UK. Mine was made by Siemens I think.

    Hope that helps,
    Martin

    Just a tip.

The OE Siemens unit is relatively exy. If you buy the unit sold as VDO you will pay half the amount and when you open the box the part still has Siemens written over it. VDO and Siemens are the same part.
    Cheers

I shall remember that for the futuire. If the symptoms don't clear by unplugging the MAF this will be my next check.

    Thanks, Martin
