    What's a D2a HSE worth?

    Hi All,

Looking at retiring the RRC and getting a D2a HSE. There a are a couple for sale on carpoint/sales, just after opinions on what I should expect to be a fair price for an 03/04 with 100 - 120k on the clock.
Any other input or advice would be apreciated.

    Thanks

    A

Petrol or Diesel makes a big difference.
Options is another like bullbars and snorkel etc.

Diesel will be more, petrol will use 20L/100.

Full history, get it fully checked by a Landy mech.

A HSE is probably $27-35k any day of the week.

A 05-06 D3 is near that also and may be worth a look.

They all seem to be petrols, thats ok, as i said moving on from the rangie, used to the fuel bill.

Unfortunately, the D3 is just out of reach $ wise.

The D2a SE often comes in Diesel and has almost as many features.
    Less to go wrong too.

Not stuck on the HSE, just all I have seen available so far that ticks my boxes. Specifically after 7 seater with rear aircon and leather. No a real lot about.

You don't say where are from in your profile, but I have seen a few HSEs around in my travels. Because they were out of my price range, there seemed to be heaps.

My D2a V8 HSE doesn't use 20 litres per 100 unless I'm towing a camper or trailer then it uses a bit more then that.
I filled up today and it had nearly 590 k's on the trip meter. That's about 40 k's more then normal but still way short of 20 l per 100 unless my maths is failing me.

I do live in the country though so not a lot of stop / start driving but I have a heavy foot.

Yes a diesel is more economical but it you do the math including service costs etc and cost of fuel in comparision then you can drive quite a few tens of thousands of miles extra for the price difference. It just depends if you want a quite smooth thirstier V8 or a noisy vibrating diesel.

I will say though if your planning on doing lots of towing buy the diesel, if not the V8 is also a good option.

    Drive both and then decide.

Did I hear some one say they would pay high 20's for my V8 03 Silver HSE with only 122k on the clock, with all the fruit including plus new airbags and new ace?

Not that I'd want to sell it of course...

    cheers,
    Terry

It must be all the extra gear and weight and the auto box...cause mine is 16l/100k all the time since new in 02 (manual V8) in and out to town mostly including some peak hour. Be careful though cause I love the look of the HSE and the fruit, but most of the stuff that goes wrong or makes odd noises with D2 is that in the HSE (and SE for often) - air suspensions, Ace, factory sun roofs etc

    Cheers

    Thanks Fellas,

My preference is for a V8, so that is mainly what I am looking at. Don't do a real lot of miles, so economy is not a huge issue.

I am up Brisbane, but I am prepared to travel, for the right vehicle.

My partner drives my D2a V8 and usually gets around 14-16L per 100km according to the scangauge. That's a daily mix of freeway and slower traffic. She doesn't drive it for economy either. The HSE is a bit heavier which might bump up the consumption a little.
