Thanks for that, It makes sense about the axle turning from what both you and Slunnie have told me.

Should have it back on the rocks before to long.

Wayne, I have to buy a set now also as I've broken a Maxi CV. Please let me know how you go. I think these work out to about $1050 landed, you can buy them locally for about $1900 and I think I worked out about $1300 landed direct from Ashcroft.
    Cheers

    Heard back from L8
The kit is $788 and shipping will be $170.
The rear kit is $488 and shipping will $110. Shipping is done by weight so there is no discount for shipping 2 kits sorry.
    The exchange is 958.00 USD

    =

    1,074.51 AUD

Your price must have been when our dollar was stronger.

Hi Wayne, No I'm ok. I've already made contact with him. Thanks for the offer though. Good question re the tools... I've always had someone else change the CV's on it. There is an oil seal that apparently is best to change at the same time.

Finally got a chance to pull some things apart today and the CV is smashed and the spline on the half shaft is badly worn. Dropped out the diff oil and that looks fine. Will take hub to a mates and have the CV pressed out tomorrow. And get some new oil seals as well. Can't talk the Minister for Domestic Finance to release any more funds for the locker. Will just have to lobby harder I suppose.
Took some pics if anyone is interested. The first pics is only seconds before it popped not much happening really just a bit of wheelspin.

Can snatching someone out when I am in reverse cause any stress to CV ???
