    Angry TD5 engine mounts.

well i changed out the engine mounts today as they were both rather sagged. i have had a monor rattle that i have id'd as the flex joint in the exhaust. the muffler shop told me to do the mounts before replacing the flex joint with a nice braided 1. rather than a nicer smoother feel that i expected, i now have a very harsh driving D2. up to 2500 rpm its very harsh and a lot of engine feedback through to body and steering wheel. thninking of putting back the shagged mounts, as it was soo much smoother to drive, just a small rattle that coincidently has been removed, however replaced with a harsh vibration through out the car. that door mirrors now rattle at idle. i feel like i am drivng an old 40 series cruiser

    Transmission mounts?

Did you do the transmission mounts at the same time as they have probably sagged also? I have the Britpart ones all round on my TD5 Manual Disc II and she now runs as smooth as silk.

I fitted new mounts as a job to be ticked of the list, and had the same issue, the vibration transfered through the body then doubled and was pretty unbearable at idle, checked they were not hitting the body etc and mounted all ok, could not understand it........ took em off and re-ffited the old ones in the end.......
