Hi guys/gals.
I have a 2003 d2A TD5. It had one key when I bought it. I have bought a new key fob, genuine part, from the UK, complete with two bar code no.s on a tag attached to the key. I cannot get it to sync.
I have followed the instructions, vaugely, from here:
http://www.aulro.com/afvb/electronic...sociation.html
It essentially says the following:
1. Open the ignition key fob and remove the circuit board and battery in one piece.
2. Write down the 6 characters printed on the chip on the underside of the circuit board.
If you have another working key, keep it handy with the non-working key
3. Start Nanocom and select the Valeo BCU tab
4. Select "Utility" from the left pane
5. Perform an RF test with the working key. A success message will be displayed stating the key number
6. Select “Key Inner Codes” from the left pane of Nanocom
7. Click “Update” to display the codes stored in the BCU
8, Enter the number from step 2 into any of the key fields, except the field which is the one for the working key identified in step 5
9. Click “Set Code” next to the field you just added the key number from the non-working key.
10. Click update and check the new number was written to the BCU
11. Perform the "Key Sync" function
12. Disconnect Nanocom and check that the key works
I did the above, except used the key outer codes.
When I hit key sync, and use the key fob buttons, the test saays it received a signal from a key not programmed to the BCU.
Obviously, I am doing something wrong.
There are 2 barcode no.s on the new key fob.
top one is 16 charaxcters long, not including asterix at beginning and end.
bottom one is 15 characters long, not including asterix at beginning and end.
Which of these numbers should I be using?
Which of the four key codes should I be putting it in?
How do I not overwrite my existing key?
Just to clarify, it IS being received using the RF test.
