Evo2 Turbo Pressure
Hello,
Well been playing with the new Evo an see that my turbo pressure is always at " 0 " is that besause I have a TD5 Alive boost box ?? Or my MAP sensor is not working ? Using a bit more fuel lately.
I seem to be getting loss of communication with the ECU, and freezes up alot and has to be reset.

Most likely the MAP sensor on the intake manifold. It's worthwhile removing it and checking it's not blocked up with crap.
If it is, a can of Würth brake cleaner to dissolve everything and remove it and a can of CO2 cleaner to remove the rest then test it.
Don't poke anything down the hole or blow it with compressed air as you will damage the diaphragm in it.
Might also pay to check the air inlet temp as it's part of the same sensor.
What area are you in?

Your only about 10 minutes from me then. Quite happy to have a look or swap sensors if you want to test it.
I'll be at Tannahill Park in Toodyay next weekend for the WAAULROians gathering but can take a look any night except Wednesday this week.

ok. I am new to all this but On my evo 2 The instrument reading for turbo pressure is 0 at idle and goes up to 1.1 with the turbo fully spooled up. It takes a fair bit of the loud pedal to make it move from 0 though. Most of the time it reads 0 I thought this was weird as it should be in Kpa and possibly it was a stuffed sensor. Anyway long story short if you use the td5 map application and watch the turbo pressure using the Inputs functions, as you drive you get the reading in in Kpa. This showed a range of 100 to approx 210 on the deffer. So mine works OK, not sure why instruments doesn,t show in Kpa
If your sensor is kaput I would think you will not get a reading. hope this helps

Hello,
Thanks for your reply haven't really been in to the MAP section on the Evo2 yet, not to sure what to push. I have VNT on my TD5 which gives very good boost very quickly I changed the sensor and sitting in the drive way just now now I got .5 on the EVO and on the boost gauge it was about 8-10psi, so it seems to have been the sensor,
thank you everybody for the advise.
