Nanocom Evolution 2 Td5 errors Need little help
Hi to all,
Today I get the nanocom evolution 2 but because I’m very newbie in using it I need some help.
The First reason that I get it is because i want to check my injectors. when I perform the test from - Td5 engine - Outputs -shows "Error: ECU Communication error” “Error: Unable to perform the function".
The Second is because I want to tune it up but when I choose to read map from ECU is showing "The ECU Map is not programmable".
And Something strange: when I go Applications - Td5 instrum. The Turbo Pressure is -0.0 but when I go from inputs fuelling the mainfold turbo Pressure (Kpa) is 95.69.
And the last thing that I notice is:
Accel.Way1 (V) 0.765
Accel.Way2 (V) 4.301
Accel.Way3 (V) 0.000
Accel.Supply (V)5.032
Is this normal?
My Car is 2002 Defender90 Td5.
I appreciate any help you can provide.
Please note that I change the injectors loom and engine loom previous week.
Thank you very much

G'day Anthos,
The early ECU's can not be programmed from the diagnostic port (They need to have the memory chip physically changed inside the ECU)
Your accel voltages look normal. Accel 1 and 2 should add up to the accel supply voltage. If you have a read of the RAVE CD it gives a good explanation why, so I won't repeat it here.
The Turbo pressure in TD5 inst mode is scaled in bar and is calibrated to read (14.7 PSI = 1 bar = 100Kpa = 1 atmosphere at sea level) and is calibrated to read gauge pressure. Whereas the manifold pressure is indicating in Kpa absolute pressure.
For info, at max boost my boot instrument peaks at about 1.18

Pete

Hi peter5111
Thank you very much for your reply. Do you know from Where i can download the RAVE CD because i download it 100 times until now and is corrupted.
Anyone can confirm that the feature of nanocom to test the injectors work ok and is not a bug so i can start troubleshoot what is wrong with my car?
Thanks

Anthos,
The injector output test is a simple electrical test (closing circuit on the injector solenoid) & if your engine is running fine then it adds no value. This however doesn't alter the fact that the Evo should be able to connect to the ECU.
Re RAVE please PM me with an email address and will send what you need.
Rgds

The issue solved
Today i contact Blackbox and the problem is solved.
I was perform the test with running engine for that reason
the test fails. When i check with the engine off the test performed fine.
Many thanks to peter and mturri for sharing with me their knowledge.
Regards
Anthos
