In January 2011 the following posts were made:
I've checked the Blackbox Solutions in the forlorn hope that I might be able to work out how to register for the above mentioned Nanocom Evolution Support Forum, but I'm at a loss.
If the BBS support page is to be believed BBS doesn't actually provide support for the Nanocom Evo:
and the Nanocom Evo is not listed in the hardware type list on the registration form. There are several terms and conditions for receiving support from our company:
1. Blackbox Solutions staff provides registration and technical support for ROVACOM and FAULTMATE MV, SV and MSV1/2 products purchased from Blackbox Solutions only (or its appointed agents) and reserves the right to not answer any questions which are not related directly to these products.
Can anyone shed some light on how we are supposed to register to access the Nanocom support forums?
cheers
Paul
Hiya Paul
When i initially took on the Nanocom in January 2011 i did indeed set up a section of our own technical support Forum for the Nanocom, and wanted to start a support forum in addition to the existing method of e-mailing support@nanocom.it
However the existing owner database was an utter mess, with details being overwritten by anyone filling in a message form and using the registration to send messages.
I was willing to start afresh with new owners buying their equipment from us and keeping a new database, but existing owners who were already very suspicious of our intent at that time twisted this to suggest we were dropping support for them, even although e-mail support is something we deny our other equipment type owners and we answer all e-mails for support within only one or two working hours and don't ask or care who sold them their system.
In the end, and bearing in mind that we had no idea of what we had gotten into and even if we could rescue the Nanocom, it seemed the quickest and easiest option was to simply keep support as it always had been, so the BBS forum idea was dropped completely and registration and support for the Nanocom is done via the Nanocom.it web site, which is stated on the literature provided with the Nanocom's.
For those missing that, and there are a few, perhaps i will add a link from our BBS support and registration page with some explanation and clarification text.
Maybe in the future we will create a Nanocom owners Forum and find another way to validate ownership.
I hope this sheds the requisite light on this for you
