    Freelander 1 modules for Evo?

    Hiya Colin,

Need to recommend an end user level diagnostics system to a die hard Freelander 1 owner (M47 engine). Before I default to Hawkeye could you please confirm there are no plans to extend Nanocom Evo coverage to the early Freelanders --just trying to minimise the chances of ending up with a guilty conscious...

    Cheers
    Matt

    Hi Matt
I'm not Colin (obviously) but I do have an early Freelander - 2001 TD4 which I have licenced with my FaultMate MSV-2.

I also have a Nanocom and would love to see the Freelander 1 included at some point. I am very impressed with the Nanocom for my P38 Rangies.

Before you go to a Hawkeye, take some time to look at what the MSV-2 licence will do for your Freelander. Unfortunately, the Freelander 1 is not supported in stand-alone mode on the MSV-2, so you might as well save a few dollars and get a Nano (no LCD screen) rather than an Extreme.

If you do go with a Hawkeye, please share with us what it can/can't do on the Freelander 1.

    Cheers, Paul.

Thank you Paul for the insight.

Forgot to say, portability is a must which rules out Faultmate in this case.

Per the latest application chart (here attached) Hawkeye seems to do quite a bit for the FL1, but looking at it in detail there's a few critical Xs missing for the Diesel EMS systems.

PS1: original post errata, is 'conscience' not 'conscious'...

    Hiya Matt
    I am Colin (obviously)

I can confirm that we have no plans to add Freelander 1's to the Nanocom's coverage, nor add stand alone capabilities to the MSV-2 extreme for it.
Our coverage of this vehicle, although not being provided in any stand alone form is still absolutely second to none.
So if if portability is such a must, you can indeed buy the Hawkeye for this with a clean conscience.

At least it will make you appreciate our equipment all the more LOL
