VIN number changed in BeCM (P38A) - Faultmate help

I got a Faultmate extreme a few days ago, and did all the usual registration stuff. Now the faultmate wont read my BCM settings, stating that the faultmate is registered to a different VIN. I can see in the vehicle scan info that the VIN number in the BCM has changed! Now, since there is a mismatch in the VIN in my tup codes and the BCM I cant go in and change the BCM VIN data.

Any idea how I use the FM to chnage the VIN in my BCM? I have asked this question on the BB support forum here. But I wont this sorted before next weekends Land Cruiser Mountain Park trip

Thanks for any help from any FM experts in AULRO!

I had a similar problem when my BECM was changed. BBS supplied the new info I needed within a day or so.

This has been solved. BBS gave me new TUP codes for the corrputed/wrong VIN in the BCM which allowed me to go into the BCM settings and change the VIN, but I was immediately locked out again as the correct BECM VIN now existed the TUP codes were for the old VIN. They have now (rather quickly) sent me a third set of licence TUP codes for the Faultmate that matches the original and correct VIN.. All fixed.

    Hiya glenhendry
How odd, was the vehicle alarmed or something?
    Is the OBDII connector clean?

If everything else is OK and it happens again, i would certainly consider finding a replacement BeCM as this sure is not normal.

In any event as you have discovered, We are pretty quick on the ball and more than willing to help in any way we can and accommodate ECU changing etc.
