Yes I have just done it today. Pushed the screen firmly to turn on while driving & she went crack.

Made contact with BBSolutions & they advise that I need to return for repair. Cost will be about 75 euro plus freight both ways by DHL - not cheap.
However I have pulled apart & have found the screen used is a Brelco KTT035B. Not sure where to get one yet.

Mind you the way the evo has been assembled you really need to obtain a new face sticker as it needs to be disturbed to dismantle the unit - which is a bugger.

Has no one else broken theirs??? It was not too hard to break.

G'day Gents, you are not alone. There are 1or2 members on the Nano forum who have suffered the same. They treated theirs a little more roughly though.

I did not treat mine rough, but was trying to turn her on by "pressing firmly" on the screen as per the instructions. I was doing it while driving on our rural road (little rough) so that may not have helped. I feel there is a fine line between "firmly" and "too firm".

I chased up BBS again asking nicely to send a new screen & faceplate decal, at my expense off course, but no go. They want it sent back. The biggest problem is the cost of sending DHL each direction.

I have sent an email to the manufacturer of the screen asking if I can buy of them, but don't like chances of buying just a couple. Surley someone else in Australia has has this problem & attempted repair....maybe found an alternative screen???

    Nanocom returns.

    Hi guys.
I had to return my EVO for repairs and ended up using Australia post. It was much cheaper, about $25 if I remember correctly. That was last year. The warranty slip said to use DHL and I emailed BBS and asked why DHL and they said it was the preferred method but didn't care who I used.

    Cheers Nino.

I have just sent mine back to BBS, got a Quote from DHL and they wanted $195.63 to send it back, when I quesioned them re the price as I had paid $37.00 to get it here they said that was the price. I got a quote from Aust Post for $44.00 fully insured and traceable with notification of when it gets there.

Oh, and on the topic of touching the screen 'firmly'

All that needs to be done is to touch it lightly using the same pressure you would for a smartphone. The trick is to hold your finger on the screen for roughly 4 seconds. This causes the watchdog timer to detect a system hang and force a reboot. (My assumption)

Sounds like a very nice idea. But I suspect it may be too bigga task for BBS to even contemplate.

Don't mention that dirty word - "smartphone" - please.

But yes I suspect you may be correct, but they have attempted to make it difficult for accidental switching on.
