    BBS activity.

Many members will remember the days when we first took over the Nanocom, it's many warts and all, and many members on this forum were especially supportive and instrumental in helping us debug it and get it to a state that was jointly beneficial to owners and producers alike and more representative of BBS equipment standards

While once we were able and known for our ability and willingness to jump on any problem and fix it, producing an upgrade with the fix at but the drop of a hat. Sadly a few minor problems that we have since become made aware of are now no longer able to be dealt with so swiftly.

My development guys are largely now occupied on other major developments and aspects that really cannot be interrupted.

However, i would wish to express that we have never lost any focus and our desire to sort any bug out in the Nanocom software remains as strong as it has always been. As soon as is humanly possible, we absolutely intend to address the small list of reported bugs we have been compiling.

I can but only thank anyone affected for their patience.

I just got an autoreply from BBS saying they are closed for Easter until May 8th.

Is this right or is it a month out?

Apparently so: Greek Easter - Greek Orthodox Easter Dates 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and beyond

But that's next week (may 5th). It ain't Easter yet in Greece.

Why would you look on a Greek site for public holidays in Cyprus? You may as well refer to the NZ govt website for Australian holidays

According to the Bank of Cyprus website 1st May is Labour Day, 3rd May is Good Friday. I'd guess BBS has closed Monday, Tuesday and Thursday this week as well too.

Cyprus does indeed have some unique dates for it's Bank Holidays but there are not that many Dougal, as the link you gave includes events too

    Quite Correct OffTrack

The 6th and 7th are also Bank Holidays here, although the 7th is not reported by some sites.

I apologize for anyone affected by this closure, but with the current financial crisis here in Cyprus and all the stress it has been causing us and our staff, we thought it would be a good thing to offer our staff the opportunity to add some of their own Holiday allowance days to the Bank Holiday days and have a decent length break. It also gives us a break we would not otherwise have.

As such we had a vote with options between no extra days off and not re opening until may 13th with the winner being somewhere in the middle.

So not only is this a reasonable compromise, but by our staff taking some of their days off at the same time, as with our Christmas Break, means less disruption during the rest of the year due to individual staff members taking holidays. It also means all staff come back fully charged which helps the teamwork aspect.

Although BBS has closed for our Easter.

TBH i have personally had another distraction recently i would wish to introduce to you all.

While i appreciate that not everyone is an animal lover, i most certainly am and somehow or another i do seem to attract animals needing help.

Although i have two dogs, also dumped on us that we have taken in, I have pretty much lost count of the amount of the other dumped dogs and puppies i have helped find new homes.

About 10 weeks ago, while working on building a carport on my home, out of nowhere this dog suddenly appeared and day after day did not want to leave.

Being light brown in coluor and happy to lie in the same colour wood shavings we named this dog, that turned out to be female, Camo, short for Camoflage.

TBH i have never known a dog to have such a pleasant nature.

We did all the usual lost dog posters and local shop poster stuff and eventually took her to our Vets who confirmesd she had no Microchip but was otherwise healthy beyond a little dental work we happily paid for.

One of my guys was willing to give camo a new home, but then we were totally suprised by what happened next

I really and truly wish i could tell you that after this things turned out happily but i cannot. The Mum who was appently dumped in her hour of most need was so malnourished that she could not produce enough milk and that she did produce was infected and within 48 Hours had killed 2 of her 3 pups and left the last one with only a few hours left to live.

Me and my wife tag teamed staying awake all night and every night for many days and nights relentlesly bottle feeding this last pup such that it never sucked of it's mum.

TBH it is pretty hard to argue against the results of our efforts that we now call Poppie

Of course me and BBS has never lost any importance to what we provide but in the meantime i hope most will appreciate and forgive this additional and most unusual interruption.
