Certainly a one off prototype sheerluck
TBH i have only provided you all with only the most basic details of what is really quite an amazing success story.
The Vet said that this last pup would almost certainly die in the next few hours, and to be honest it was already so lifeless and lethargic, just like the 2 before that had died in the previous 24 Hours, this was as expected.
But we really wanted to try anything we could to give this last pup any possible chance of life not only for our peace of mind but also for the Mums sake, as she really is so kind and gentle and what happened to her was an utter disgrace to human kind.
There was apparently a high end Milk substitute, but it was ridiculously expensive, hard to find, Pup too weak already, Getting pup to suckle from a bottle really difficult, not worth the effort, and any further suckling from Mum nearly impossible to prevent and likely fatal.
A seemingly impossible and probably fruitless challenge it may have seemed, but otherwise right up my street.
It was not easy and i may well have violated many traffic laws to get what i needed ASAP.
Me and the Missus then got hardly any sleep at all for many days, and were like zombies at work, and the staff at BBS were just fantastic and helped pick up most of the slack.
But by some miracle we managed to get this Pup suckling of a bottle, brought it back from the very brink of death, and kept it away from Mum's teats for long enough for the Antibiotics to clear up her infection and although still not producing enough milk, between us and the Mum we managed to provide more than enough nourishment for this pup and have since seen it grow at a really amazing rate and become incredibly healthy.
That last picture was taken when the Pup was only 6 weeks old
Poppie is now 8 weeks old and has grown considerably larger as you can see in this picture.

Hiya Landy
Yea it is a truly terrific and most uplifting success story, which makes a nice change given all the current doom and gloom, and despite our input and effort, and having such eye melting results, i really do not consider myself or my wife as being especially heroic or having done anything any other animal lover would not have done in the same circumstances.
For anyone wanting to follow and read a more detailed account of the events of this story and see more pictures, have a look at this thread
DISCO3.CO.UK - View topic - New family member(s) Big shock for me this morning.
Perhaps i should pre warn you that this post contains very Graphic images that you may regard as unsuitible for Wives, Girlfriends, young children and workmates.

Colin
