Urgent road side advice needed, TD5 running rough.

Hey guys. I'm at a truck stop in Dulacca, QLD. About 3000km from home. I came over a rough railway crossing and broke a U bolt on my trailer which slipped the axle back and threw the trailer sideways violently. I fixed the trailer but now the engine has a miss.

I have checked the connector at the ECU for oil but it's fine. I've driven about 30km into town. It doesn't sound mechanical but it's defiantly missing.

I have my nano comm with me and it's showing no unusual errors either. Usually has coolant circuit but I think that's EGR related.

    Help please.

If you think you can help with done advice and you text me your number I can call you back.

Check the turbo wastegate actuator for stiffness, may not be opening fully.
Try getting a bottle of diesel injector cleaner into the tank and see if that helps.

Nanocomm is showing boost pressure fine so all good there. I did get BP ultimate diesel for the first time when I left Brisbane. Maybe it's too dry. I have injector cleaner with me so I can throw that in and see how I go to Roma. It's 97km though and I don't want to do more damage running with out a cylinder.

Doesn't nanocom give you live data, should be able to look at each cylinder and see if 1 is not firing or giving odd readings.

Yeah I can get the readings but I don't know what's good or bad. They are all within + or - 25. Whatever that means. No codes though.

Maybe fuel pump. It fires up ok but starts to miss within a second or so.

Have you drained any fuel out of the filter into a glass or cup to see if its dirty, or how old is the filter ? may have a fuel restriction it may not be a individual cylinder by the sounds of the readings.

I'm doing that now. It's dark though and I have no glass jar to catch the fuel. There's a storm closing in too.

Have you got a good set of tools with you?

Take the EGR plumbing apart and clean them out, sounds like a bit of crud has come loose and blocked it.
