    Scan Guage II

    Hi
A mate of mine has recently installed a Scan Guage II on his Landbruiser and thinks it's the ants pants, or should that be bee's knees??..
Its only a small item and can sit on the dash or somewhere convienient and can be used to monitor various engine functions, and also monitor fuel usage ,etc. I'm interested because it is claimed to be able to read and cancel fault codes. Has anyone got one of these or know anything about them? Would it work on a 2007 Disco3 TDV6? The website is Australian ScanGauge Sales and Support – Ample Outdoors.
    Cheers

I've got one. If you were nearby, you could borrow it.

I've never tried clearing fault codes - I have a RovaCom and a Testbook for that and, to tell the truth, I haven't had an engine fault logged in years (not since the LPG system was changed). I just use it as a set of gauges.

    UltraGuage

Just had my ultraguage delivered to my house in Bald Hills, if that's near you.
Basically they all rely on a standard, OBDII, that's been around since 1997. I am no expert, but i believe the answer is yes. Certainly in terms of reading data, not sure about editing codes.

I had a Scan Gauge fitted to my 2007 2.7 TDV6 until the car got hit by lightning and the Scangauge got fried.

It worked very well and I was extremely happy with it. It can only read high level fault codes and reset them but you need to use the internet to find out what the code means - it does not give a description - very basic in this area and certainly does not replace a proper code reader but will clear them.

I had the Scangauge sitting on top of the steering column where it worked well.

For their price of $160 I would recommend them.
