    EVO2 Nano Instrument Mode

is there a way to set the instrument mode to come on automatically on the EVO 2 Nanocom ? i had this mode set on the nano 1 previously and like having the electronic guages as a backup. i can get the instruments to come on, but it is a cumbersome setup to do it each time i start the car.

You'll still need to plug it in to power up, at least mine doesn't auto on. But mine has other issues ATM.Remember leave the unit end plugged and screwed in and use the OBD port end as your "switch".

I tried to use a 12v external source from both the power socket and a switched fuse source but needed a bump to start from the OBD signal. once on it would however stay on even when the engine was shut down and show ECU loss of signal when it powered down.

I leave mine permanently connected in the D2a. Switches off automatically after a period (most times), and to switch it on, I just hold my finger gently against the screen for a few seconds after starting the engine. Likewise, if it freezes (which it does intermittently), I just hold my finger on the screen until it beeps/goes off, and it then self starts a few seconds later. Alternatively disconnect the cable at the car OBDII end and reconnect.

If I transfer the unit to the RRC/MY99 TD5 it works most times, but wont switch off when I turn off. Given that we still have a few minor electrical issues to address when Dave comes back from up north, this may be an interim issue.

ah, now i have worked out my problem. i thought i must have been missing some files, as i couldnt scroll past D2AGS, whatever that is, turns out the screen calibration must be a little off, i had to scroll just to the side of the down arrow to get to TD5INST , thanks peeps. be nice if there was an auto on function like there was in the Nanocom 1. in all the 1 seems to be a more robust unit, even though the touch screen is a nice option for the EVO2
