Has anyone bought an ECUMATE and if so are they worthwhile?
Or is there other options out there for checking and resetting the parameters on your ECU?
I have a Disco 1 3.9.

I have one and it works great as a diagnostic tool and fault code reader. Steve Heath developed these for use on TVRs but because they use the same 14 CUX hotwire system it works equally well on land rovers.
There's a couple of good You Tube videos on how to use it, but the online manual is very good too. Basically it just connects to the Testbook plug under the Disco dash, then you cycle through all the various test options for sensors, ecu, maf, stepper motor, throttle pot, etc. Sure you could do the same tests with a digital multi meter, but this is much quicker and easier to use.
