Faultmate Vs Nanocom

Hi all looking at getting a code reader, more to the point I am wanting to re write the CCF to enable the reverse camera and add what ever else I may be able to include, reset the service reminder and generally just muck around. The Nanocom seems the go as it has the built in screen for a price I think is OK the Faultmate seems the same but needs more money spent on it to have the screen included. Oh and I use Mac so no PC to interface with. Any better places to purchase from instead of the overseas mob Blackbox?

I bought a GAP IID.
Fits in the glovebox and uses the car instrument panel screen for display.
You can get a Bluetooth version as well if you want to use your phone screen.
A great piece of kit.
Does service reset and CCF changes etc.

Well, unfortunately, you've missed out on the 25% discount offer on the Nanocom (see Group Buys).

I have a Faultmate and in that Group Buy thread you will find I asked BBS about the functionality differences from a Nanocom. Colin replied.

Agreed. I got the Bluetooth version. Works well with iPhone/iPad so no need to interface to PC. Have a look at this thread too, has some more feedback:

Arrived in a few days and already paid for itself with service resets and a BMS reset.

Yeah after reading the threads on the Nanocom on Disco3 I am leaning more towards the IID Tool plus it plays nicely with the Apple ecosystem I have here at home, I understand the Faultmate may be more capable and the Nanocom is also an all in one with the builtin screen, but the IID Tool is just starting to get my vote.

Just received an IIDtool with BT myself - very slick user interface when using on an iPhone, plus fault codes are very descriptive. Programmed a replacement spare key - quick and easy.

Sadly I also bought on-line from LRDirect in the UK for around $500 less compared to the local distributor. I say sadly as do like to support local suppliers.

I also have Nanocom, brilliant for the D2, but seems to be a bit more clumsy to use on the D3.

So you can get them for about $500 delivered to Australia, nice! Yet I'm only seeing about $635 plus shipping for the Discovery 4 with Bluetooth.

No, sadly local distributor wanted around $500 on top of the price you quoted. I paid same as your quote.

The Faultmate with the screen only reads and clears faults in stand-alone mode as it needs to be connected to a PC to edit the CCF.
