Disco 2, only idles, no throttle and m&s flashing

Hello, I was driving along the road in Alice Springs in my TD5, and suddenly no accelerator and the gearbox lights (MS) started flashing! Can someone please help me with these codes from my Nanocom.
    019-07
    021-06
    025-06
    002-07
    002-08
    025-07

    Gearbox
    Invalid (FFH)P1884 fault018, fault003

    Thank you in advance

    Hi Cameron

Try the following thread for starters.

    LIST OF FAULT CODES

The nanocom will also include a brief description with the code, which will assist in working out what the number means. You can save the error codes to an SD card as a text file and then cut and here to save typing.

    Cheers

Seems like throttle position sensor failure

Thanks for your reply, I changed the TPS and re wrote it to the ECU. Still same fault. Idles only m&s flashing, amber engine light on limp home mode ... Checked for oil in loom. About over it!

But if you have tester why didn't you check live inputs from the TPS before you replaced it? cos it can be a wiring issue between it and the ECU or it can give inputs then you knew more.... i should have said "TPS signal failure", sorry

I had a similar failure and it turned out to be the auto box selector switch (XYZ switch). I know you said gear box but some people use the term generically.

If you are able to clear the code and make the S&M lights disappear, more the selector and see if the lights come on instantly. That is more or less how I diagnosed it.

Check the wiring loom that connects the XYZ switch and transfer case switches to the main harness under the center console. Look for chafing of the loom where it runs across the top of the transfer case and loose multi-pin connectors.

    Problem fixed

Thanks everyone for their help and suggestions. The problem was caused by the wire that runs between the head and firewall and connects to the oil cooler on the passenger side of the engine, being chafed and shorting out. The corrugated insulating plastic around it had broken down.
As soon as I insulated it, all the warning lights went off and the accelerator worked.
I now have a spare accelerator and crank angle sensor!

Remember well the area where that chaffed wire was cos the wire which goes to the oil cooler is for the oil pressure warning and a short to ground on that wire would bring on only that warning nothing else, it can't affect the TPS inputs or MIL whatsoever so my presumption is that there is another wiring issue too within the loom in that area which affects the TPS signals and as you jiggled the harness there it went away for the moment but it will come back soon...let's hope i'm wrong though
