    TD5 ECU

Hi I'm having issue with my 2000 110 Defender TD5 ex military. When I was looking at ECU i spotted sticker with handwritten note " Rework To RA PN° CYG69023-2" Any ideas what it might be?
    Thanks

I have no idea what it means, but I believe military spec units had some features missing/changed.

What are the issues with the vehicle?

While driving, engine stops suddenly without any warning complete loss of power only "check engine" light comes on. Then I can start it it will run for couple of minutes then it happens again. If I leave the car sit for longer it's fine again until I run it for 30-40 min sometimes longer.

Could be a number of things, do you have any tool to scan for faults?

The capacitors can fail in the ECU which can cause the issues you mention, they will probably be worse when hot.

But you need to check for faults first before proceding further.

That's what I was thinking but none of the scan tools I used would work. I used Toyota Techstrem which has ODB/2 ,generic BOSCH OBD2 scanner and G scan but nothing would work. Reading these forums It looks like you need specific scan tool for Landy. I'm i right?

Yes, you will need something like a Nanocom or Hawkeye as the Td5 ECU is not 100% ODB2 compliant.

sounds like the age old oil in the harness plug.

No oil in the harness plug. Could failed MAIN relay or Inertia switch cause engine shutting down suddenly while driving?
btw there are 2 relays which one is MAIN?20230708_141002.jpg
