Im not sure that your car has the right connection to take a scanguage.
It needs to be an OBDII .
Has anyone tried the ScanGauge on a P38A?
Alternatively, can I try someone's on ,ine?

It should work ok, takes a bit of calibrating but once thats done it
is a good thing
I'd want to be sure. Having read other posts in this thread, it seems it doesn't work on all LRs even with OBDII ports.

I have been using the ScanGauge II successfully so far for the last couple of months on my 2005 NAS LR3 HSE.
I purchased it for the purpose of using to as a gauge supplement - that is to get for instance, digital engine water temperature as the stock gauge, while pretty, about all it tells you is that the engine coolant is cold, OK, or hot. I would say that the digital readout tells you pretty much what the thermostat is doing, (or not doing). I used F units, however it can be set to C units which I note you use down under. We do as well for the weather, (as the LR display shows - a warm winter day -8C), however for engine water temp, I am more comfortable with F.
I also like the digital voltage display. In normal operation, it indicates on my LR3 anywhere from 13.9 to 14.9 vdc. As such, I regard it as a good indication of what is going on in real time. A red light is a good backup, but when that light goes on, all that tells you is you already have a serious problem and prepare to be walking.
There are a bunch of other things the display can show, however water temp and volts were my primary concern.
Oil pressure apparently cannot be displayed as it seems that parameter is not sent to the OBD plug in any manner than can be read by the ScanGauge or I guess any other brand either.
You will note on the jpg attachment, something call MAP, (manifold absolute pressure) - that is sort of a vacuum readout, so I also like that as I often use the Command Shift feature for slowing down. Also the digital RPM shows more precisely where the automatic transmission is shifting, both up and down.
Also I can report that the unit will extinguish what I call the Emissions System trouble light - (the yellow one on the tach). For no apparent reason, the light went on when returning from a Service visit at my dealer. The unit was disconnected as they are suspicious of them - any of them. Anyway, the light went on so I figured that was another visit. Then I remembered that the ScanGauge was supposed be to able to read and clear some codes.
As such, I pushed buttons and code P0000 appeared. I do not really know what that means - something like "False Alarm" I gather from reading various code posts on the internet. As such, if any one knows what it really means, please let me know.
Anyway, I pushed the clear codes button, and after maybe 20 seconds, to my surprise, the MIL light when off. It took longer than I had anticipated so I had just about figured that the ScanGuage did not clear LR3 codes - but it did in this case.
I know Scangauge11 is not supposed to work on a Disco2 TD5 (I contacted manufacturer & they said it would only read the V8 ECU), but has anyone actually tried it & if so what readings & reset ability did it have.
Cheers..B
