Ok, unit arrived yesterday (thanks Stuart).
Firstly the unit does not come with software this has to be downloaded from their website.
Secondly there is no operating manual with the unit so this has to be downloaded from their site, no problem with either!
I have downloaded, printed and bound the users manual and have access to a printer to make mutiple copies so if anyone who is ordering the unit and can't for whatever reason print off the manual (46 pages) I will print and bind 10 copies.
So PM me if you want one, first in first served.
    Paul.

    Hi Harro,

Do you mean no PC software?
What version of the firmware it has?
... how many errors you've found in your ECU?

    Cheers,
    Ruslan

    Link: ScanTool.net - Home - Welcome to ScanTool.net

    Thanks
From what I can work out from their website this US$59.95 device has been tested to work on a 2004 TD5 Defender and a 1997 Range Rover. I beleive it will only talk to the ecm/ecu not the alarm or abs/etc modules (may be wrong). See this link for connection details https://www.scantool.net/support/ind...atingconfirm=1
Also I think the software may be a little basic compaired to Nanocom and Faultmate.
Does look good value though for people like me who are skint. However I do like the idea of the instrument panel on the Nanocom. If anyone is brave enough to buy and trya ScanTool please let me know what you think.

if you have a look at the website it tells you most things but in summary yes is can read / reset faults, read sensors, reset key fobs, talk to the SLABS/ABS computer and will be able soon to talk to the body computer. it can also write engine maps to the ECU so therefor can be used for replacing injectors etc. its pretty damn comprehensive.

you will have to contact stuart at rovacraft (have a search for his details) he may have a few left from the large buy he did. I havent heard anything yet about whether they have hit perth yet tho...

    Thanks
