Ineos Grenadier, do you reckon it'll take off?

Regarding the link posted above to the video.
That gets my interest! I like it where the proviso states that they received no money from INEOS but were given the vehicles as long term test beds to do as they please. INEOS could give me one for a long term test and I would not ask for money to drive it!
Refreshing for them to be given a free hand to do as they please. Most manufacturers would not do this.
Despite the automatic gearbox and high road tax it is growing on me! There is a couple of things about the wife that are not perfect but I have learnt to live with those...so why not the GRENADIER? [biggrin]
I remember reading in an early LRO magazine about a British diplomat and his wife finishing up work in somewhere like Pakistan and they opted to drive back to Britain in a 2.25 naturally aspirated diesel 90. All of their goods were sent back by container. The only thing he would change would be having a 2.5 turbo instead of the 2.25n/a diesel.
How they would have loved the GRENADIER!

I don't think any of the ponces in the 2nd photo would ever drive a Grenadier, not something you'd see down Regent st.

I received the same email. My thoughts were “they must be desperate to sell them if they are making these special editions already!”

The big shopping centre on the outskirts of Geelong (Waurn Ponds if you know it) has had a display section up for the last few months where various cars have been on display from the local dealers.
MGs, Havals, Fords, Renaults and various others have been there, but when I walked past today they had 2 Grenadiers - a Quartermaster ute and a Fieldmaster wagon.
First time I've had the opportunity to look really close up at one. The wagon looks good, I like it! And should I win Powerball I will buy myself one!
I've been watching Ronny Dahl's YouTube videos of his Grenadier and I'm pretty impressed, it seems far more capable (and has better articulation) than I'd thought from previous stuff I'd seen. I especially like all the kit you can bolt on the sides, seems far more useful than the box on the side of the new Defender!

Not keen on the Quartermaster though, looks very ungainly!

There’s one in Cooktown. I drive an old Perentie, had it for 11 years now, a couple of other classic landrovers, counties and defenders in town….we all wave and smile when we pass on the road…not the ineos driver though…not once….little bit superior seems to be his problem….bugger him and his new car I say.

New vehicle. Maybe he is afraid to take his hand off the steering wheel?

I drive a Grenadier most days and wave to every classic Land Rover I see. 9/10 times they wave back vigorously.

I don't wave at the new Defender, nor do they wave at me.

I'd feel the same way in your shoes I'm sure, but don't judge all Grenadier drivers! He's probably an ex-Jeep owner...

I reckon most flippers have theirs well north of $120k still. There are some stubborn ones.

Most of those in the low 90s are dealer stock with poor option combinations (eg. No diff locks, no auxiliary battery etc). Once they finally disappear we should see prices stabilise.
