Did wonder if Recaro's woes would have an impact, not specifically on Ineos, but generally. I'm no businessman, but I wonder if it would be in Radcliffe's interest to bung in a few bob.

Harry didn't read the manual the first time.... indeed he admits he sat down with Ineos after the earlier test drive to learn about the Quartermaster...
Even then he didn't quite get it right... the CDL can be engaged on the run in either low or high range preferably under 40kmh when you engage... in low range that might be in 4th or 5th, or third gear in high range. However, one needs to come to a halt to shift from low to high range or high to low range. Have to be in low range with CDL engaged before you can engage rear and front diff locks. If you unlock the CDL, the rear and front diff locks automatically disengage.[wink11]
Yes. I did say that he may not be doing it correctly. It did seem unlikely that INEOS would get that so wrong if the Defender was the inspiration. Harry needs to have Clarkson visit more often. Clarkson is technically challenged, sure, but he knows how to push buttons.... in more ways than one.
Production has been paused due to a supplier issue.
Issues with supplier could mean factory shutdown will last until early 2025
Recaro maybe (my guess)?
INEOS confirms “good” Australian Grenadier stock - carsales.com.au
Got an email saying there are still places available on their African trips. Must not be the take up they hoped for.
Just a recap on the costs.

Heading back to the office and spotted these in town.
Went over and met the staff from Ineos Australia.
We had a good chat - the cab chassis has been very popular.

Had an interesting chat with the Canberra Ineos guys on the weekend at the Murrumbateman field days. They had a client's very nice cab chassis on display there and we got talking about what I might replace the 130 with, Currently I have a vehicle that I can and regularly do throw a pallet of super or sheep pellets on and which I occasionally tow trailers close to the 3.5T limit with. There isn't anything on the market that has this capability (and indeed I could do both at the same time, although it would be very slow) except a Chev 2500 and you would need a truck licence to drive it because of the GVM. We were talking about how I was a corner case etc, etc and I said that if the payload of the Ineos was a Tonne I'd happily live with a lower towing capacity.
We had just finished our chat which was mostly designed to let them know that they need to think about a GVM upgrade (they did mention that a Queensland dealer was doing something along these lines) when another "corner case" punter came in and asked how he could put his 850KG camper on the back of one, I left as they were discussing the 750KG carrying capacity.

Tote
Corner case, maybe.
In my poststamp-size country defenders are almost exclusively driven by gardeners or forestry folk for two simple reasons: They can tow those huge trailers (filled) those guys always seem to have and they can throw even more in the back. Sure, a corner case since they make up not even a percent of road traffic here but still.
I wonder how it is that ineos missed the ball in both GVM as well as towing capacity, and then some more smaller points still. I guess I could argue them away with the magic words "corner case" and Pareto distribution or also commonly known as the 80/20 rule but...
Makes one wonder how much of the limitations are by choice (or choices made elsewhere) or due to new car safety regulations (or whatever) that caused these limitations.
Not a bash really, just genuine curiosity.
