Had an interesting chat with the Canberra Ineos guys on the weekend at the Murrumbateman field days. They had a client's very nice cab chassis on display there and we got talking about what I might replace the 130 with, Currently I have a vehicle that I can and regularly do throw a pallet of super or sheep pellets on and which I occasionally tow trailers close to the 3.5T limit with. There isn't anything on the market that has this capability (and indeed I could do both at the same time, although it would be very slow) except a Chev 2500 and you would need a truck licence to drive it because of the GVM. We were talking about how I was a corner case etc, etc and I said that if the payload of the Ineos was a Tonne I'd happily live with a lower towing capacity.
We had just finished our chat which was mostly designed to let them know that they need to think about a GVM upgrade (they did mention that a Queensland dealer was doing something along these lines) when another "corner case" punter came in and asked how he could put his 850KG camper on the back of one, I left as they were discussing the 750KG carrying capacity.
Regards,
Tote
