Yeah. Being a tarmac racing driver doesnt make her great at going offroad and acting all hopeless about it.

Have you ever watched her drive on Top Gear and 5th Gear - on all types of surfaces and all types of cars - she would put us all to shame - she knows how to drive offroad.

I have seen a bit but cant remember.

I have been googling her but havent yet found a single instance of her even being on dirt, never mind offroad.

The swimwagon looks like it has decent speed and seaworthiness on water, and is decent offroad. I think i will look for more utube of it.

I'm sure it's to do with the weight of the vehicle. Anyway, the history of the peoples car. According to Adolph Hitler.

The peoples car could not have been built without the business relationship of Adolph Hitler and Henry Ford. Hitlers American business partners.

An ex of mine shipped a Kubelwagen from Bali to Oz in the late 80's. Got it registered in Vic.

It was really just a beetle with a different body and a lot of fun to drive around in on a nice day. She sold it to get a Karmann Ghia.

Agree re weight Bob. On the beach seeing all the big 4wds struggling while my lighter recycled tank ( Lada) chugged away though the soft stuff used to put a smile on my face. Until I got stuck and suzuki jimny floated above the sand past me

    The history was interesting thanks

Mate of mine had a Suzuki ute up in Darwin,I'm sure it had a tiny engine,[ 2 cylinders? ] floating over sand and mud is an apt description. The German vehicle had a flat bottom, reminds me of the stories about VW combie vans up the Cape going places larger heavier vehicles could not. It should be noted that the tyres on those German vehicles looked like normal road tyres.
