    I managed to obtain Adolf Galland's autograph on a copy of his book "The First & The Last".
    He was out here many years ago doing some aerospace work.

    That was a very interesting read. Recently I also read "Stuka Pilot" by Hans Rudal. I highly recommend it as well. As a kid I read and loved "reach for the Sky".

    The German pilots dominated the "aces" list because they were pushed very hard by the generals. Eric Hartmann in fact survived the war and I think he migrated to USA after the war!!!

    I think that the British pilots had to go through a far more rigorous/credible process to confirm what they "said" was a kill, actually was one.
