 Preventative maintenance - TD4 Freelander 05
Hi, just purchased a 2005 TD4 SE in good condition. Can anyone recommend any preventative maintenance i should do to increase the life-span of my engine/vehicle? I've heard that upgrading the turbo hoses to the silicone hoses is a good idea. Any others? thanks

There are people who spend all weekend cleaning the car.
And there are people who drive Discovery.
thanks Jojo! Yeah, will be ordering new silicone turbo hoses for it very soon and changing all filters and fluids to! It's in at the mechanic at the moment getting an auto transmission service and a rear diff service. The engine malfunction light came on during the weekend and it had to be towedI just lost power and then it would not start again. It might be a fuel pump issue... but it's all being covered by the dealership as that was on the first day of driving it out of the dealership! (I bought 5 years deluxe warranty to cover my butt)
If that is one of those Insurance Policies that you have to have the car serviced every six months and send them the details by registered post, they are not worth the paper they are written on. Mechanics don't want to be involved in the hassle of jumping through all the hoops they place in your way. I had a problem with the transmission cooler in my FL1 and they said coolers are not covered. COST ME $1100 TO REPAIR. Do a search on the Forum for other members posts on this subject!!!
