    If you're wanting to tow, the Freelander is great but the Disco is more capable.

    Yup - perhaps we'll look at Discos too. My only experience was with an friend's who was a bit orecious and I only got to deive it once. Wot a slug!! It was auto but same donk as my Defender ( I think) and my Def ****ed all over it. Could not believe it was so gutless. I honestly thought there was something wrong with it. Perhaps there was because it seems quite highly rated. Fuel economy is really important to us and reliability and ease of personal servicing/repairs. Have often thought a page on a website where owners could compare their vehicles fuel economy etc would be real handy.

    Must have been a 300tdi rather than a TD5. The advantage of a TD5 is that there are a range of tuning options available to improve things if needed.
