Hi
The piece you broke is called a spill return pipe. Part number for this is MSP101340L. You cant buy just the one new. It comes as a set.
I would be looking at the solenoid that controls the turbo. Either the filter is blocked. Its a small filter that looks like a old style fuel filter and will be at the right hand rear of the engine, and is vented to atmosphere. Or the solenoid will be causing the turbo to over boost and the engine will be in derate. The solenoid is accessed from under the car above the from the prop shaft at the front.
If your planning to do your own work and keeping it for a while a Hawkeye is a must for codes, live data etc.


 so i did a search of your forum and found alot of people with similar problems i checked and double checked the turbo hoses they looked ok.  Blocked and cleaned the EGR same problem random power loss black smoke bellowing 
) so went to undo the cover then SNAP!!!!i broke a little T piece that sits on top of the injector(i think..)  here are a couple of pics of what i broke. pic one is the T piece thingy and pic two is where its located(please if anyone knows the name of and where i can find this part online or otherwise it would be much appreciated) if anyone has any ideas on why my freelander turns into a slug :P every now and then please post its got me pulling out my hair as its my daily commute and is now sitting im my garage awaiting parts
