my 6yr old got hold of my keys

In an attempt at showing off, my 6 yr old got hold of my keys to unlock the doors, she obviously pushed a certain combination of buttons because now when i try to lock it, the hooter beeps and it doesn't lock, can anyone tell me how to return this to normal?
    thanks

Maybe worth a try - Freelander key fob put new batts in still not working? - Yahoo! UK & Ireland Answers

It is a response to a flat battery in the fob, but may work to reprogram it?

In the D2 if it's been unlocked and the bonnet opened & shut but the car not started or at leasted switched to ign then when you go to lock it it'll beep at you same as it will if a door is open or ajar.

I put a new battery in mine. I was having trouble with the fob not working all the time and things beeping when they shouldn't. It turned out that one of the contacts on the old battery had sheared off. Eleven dollars for a battery, a bit of solder and some super glue had it working fine again.
