    Trailer LED Adapter

    Hi Everyone

For all those who are looking for a LED adapter to stop your trailer lights flashing here's how you do it, all for just over $50. This can also be modified to suit any vehicle plug type by purchasing the adapter you require.

Purchase a Ford Ranger LED Trailer Adapter Part Number AB3915436BE

Purchase a Good Quality 7 Pin Large to your required plug Adapter (I used a Repco Brand, you want one that screws apart).

Unscrew one side of The Ford Adapter and one side of your new adapter and wire the new plug exactly the same as the Ford Adapter using the Ford Adapters wiring (This has the required resistors already wired in). Then repeat for the other side. Be careful not to let the resistor wires touch or squash the wiring as you put it back together. The Repco Adapter should give you the wiring diagram on the back if you get stuck (I did not need the 4 extra wires that came on the Ford Adapter).

You may also have to trim the Ford Adapter rubber sleeve to allow the cover of the socket on your car to fit correctly.

    Now Enjoy

Not that I noticed but I will give it a real world test in the next few weeks

Maybe Mikehzz could let us know long term usage and how much it heats up on a good run, he was the creator of this mod.

So does this work 100% - ie not only stops the tail / indicators from twinkling but also makes the car recognise there is a trailer attached? So the reverse sensors turn off etc

Thanks for the details with this mod guys. I did this last week and tested. Works perfectly, and all for under $50.

Only found 4 resistors doing the work so makes me wonder what was so expensive in the Linear box!

This is great! Now I just need someone to ship me one here in the US. Seems none of the Oz ebay sellers will ship to the US. Any help appreciated!

    Had guys
Purchased the Ford LED trailer harness and reto Narva plugs to convert the plug ends to suit our 2005 D3 and I still have blinking indicators when plugged into the vehicles and vehicle is turned off.
Indicators, brake and park lights all function correctly otherwise.
    Any idea why?
    Thanks
    Millsy
