Thread: Help required

If the fuel tank is 45lts (11 gallons) the same part from a Series 2/2A is the same, I'm unsure about the similarities between 11 Gallon tanks and the 16 Gallon tanks as fitted to Series 3 LWB (military), I have the type for the Series 2A minus the gauze filter on the end, cheers Dennis

I think 16 gallon it is for a fuel return from the 300 tdi. I did have it returning to the fuel filter but wondering whether it was causing too much pressure build up as I had a fuel pump leak and don't want it to happen again. Expensive exercise

Hi Matt,

If all you are doing is bringing fuel back to the tank you just need a right angle pipe fitting that you thread into the top of the tank. I put one in the plate that is the top of the fuel gauge sender so that I wasn't drilling holes in a petrol tank that still had fuel in it. As far as I know there is no need to take the fuel to the bottom of the tank. Should be able to find these at REPCO, Autobahn, Supercheap etc.
