    Rear bar D2 Disco

    Here are some pics of 1 of the rear bars that I am building for my new business that hopefully will be up & running by the end of March. I will fabricate just about anything for your 4wd.
    I am making 1 of these bars for Mick G at the moment as he will be a tester for some of my products.
    I am working out of my Garage at the moment but my shop will be at Hervey Bay joined to a current 4wd accessories shop that a friend owns.
    My intention is to make most of my stuff in kit form so the customer can fit himself to save money & I will be doing a deal with freight costs for the first 6-12 months.
    This rear bar isn't finished yet but I had to quickly paint for some people to look at in Hervey Bay on the weekend, as it turned out I got 2 jobs out of it so . I haven't fitted the bracing for the sides & reverse lights. I will be fitting 2 recovery hooks inline with the chassis also but they haven't been profile cut yet.
    The bar is completely made from RHS which makes it VERY strong for it's weight as 1 person can handle it quite easily. It is made from 75x75 along the rear & 75x25 for the sides & 100x6 for the bottom triangulated pieces on the sides.

    What will be the cost for one of those rear bars.
    I could also be interested in a few months time as I nearly riped my plastic one off on Sunday.

    Rear bars will be somewhere around the $1,000 mark & with wheel carrier around $1,500.
    A lot cheaper than a Kaymar !!

    Can you incorporate the D2 rear lower lights. I know they will take away a little of the great departure angle you have created but I would like to keep the lights if a steel souround could be done. :?:

    Yeah, I would just make the bar out of 100x100 RHS instead of 75x75. The bar would effectively be 25mm longer & lower. Personally I wouldn't, have you priced replacements......expensive !!! 8O
    I cut off Mick G rear quarters & test fitted the bar on his D2 today......PERFECT.
    We have decided on which lights to use, so I will be ordering some sets this week. I have also shown him my rear wheel carrier design & he is stoked !! He now wants the carrier & my new designed R/Sliders that intergrate 2x 25mm dia. nerf/foot holds/hi-lift points, bars. 8) 8)

    Here is Mick G rig with the rear quarter after cutting & with the rear bar on for test fit.

    DON'T YOU LOVE THE CLEANLINESS OF HIS VEHICLE WHEN HE GIVES IT TO ME TO WORK ON (check out the tow hitch, it is chockers full of MUD) 8O 8O :wink:

    With my bar you gain 140mm clearance behind the wheel, 155 on the corner & at the contact point to the rear you gain 80mm..........NOT BAD YEAH !!!

    That looks great Brooksy.... 8)

    Is the stuff you make only for the D2, or do you make stuff for the D1 as well.??

    I might be interested in a rear bar and sliders for my D1 if you can make them.

    I am starting my own fabrication shop which I will be fabricating for all 4wd's but I am going to specialise in L/Rovers.
    I will build anything you want for your 4wd as long as it is safe.
