I am definately going to try and make this one. This will probably be our last chance for a while as the missus is expecting again in early July 8O 8) 8) :wink:Originally posted by MickG
I'm keen and might bring one of my boys - Andrew who will be 2 & 3 months. I've never been before though so anyone got anything to say about bringing the wee man so I can make a more informed decision? I see Captian Rightfoot, you are thinking about bringing your daughter, anyone else bringing kids, if so then let us know as this will be a major part of trip planning for all concerned
Aye, Mick
If we make it, we will definately bring my daughter (nov 2003 build).I won't go alone as I'm also planning a boys own trip in may

and a second solo outing would be frowned upon 8O

i was really hoping to be able to camp on the beach but depending on numbers and everyone else's requirements that could change... i guess we're not all completely self sufficient
But on the otherhand... once we know who is coming and get an idea of equipment people have and don't have... we can work out for sure what can be shared... eg: how many toilets would be needed etc.
As for kids, personally i can't see a problem with such a large group... no dingoes would come near that many people... just don't let the little ones walk off by themselves in the dark... but alas and thank god, i don't have any to worry aboutso all up to you.

Can I suggest a blow up wading pool for the little kids (under 5 years of age) to paddle in at the camp site under a tarp. It makes a change to running across the highway to access the beach.
We have normally camped near Orange Creek which is between Ngala Rocks and Orchid Beach. Waddy Pt is a good campsite but very populated most times. I've never stayed on the southern end but a day trip to Kingfisher to swim in their pools is a nice break to the natural lakes and beauty of the island. Sometimes there is too much nature.
It's been about 5 years since the last trip so the QNPWS may have made drastic changes to camping regulations. Camping fees were usually paid at Rainbow Beach before leaving the mainland. I normally take a tinny camping now to carry most of the gear as my three boys are almost teenagers and they need more gear.
Does anyone know if generators have been banned on Fraser as that may assist large camps with many fridges to run.
Looking forward to the next installment.
Pete
I will probably come over for the day. Maybe meet everyone at Moon point and i'll take you up the west coast of fraser, depending on the tides.
well since you put your first ding in the truck you wont feel so bad about getting it sandy nowOriginally posted by LoadedDisco
Steinzy,
You have me seriously thinking about this trip now. But will only go if you will be able to make it
Since you have given me some curry about sand driving

I will go through a few more tricks of the trade on rust protection with you before the trip
