You obviously have little, if no idea, to what the costs of the parts alone would be

When Maxi drive were still going i asked about the portals, approx $15000.00 for the set of 4, and you had to do your own engineering cert.
Would love to know how many sets Maxi actually made.

TRANSFER LOW RANGE CRAWLER GEARS (MAXI DRIVE) $1500+fitting
MAXI DRIVE PORTAL DIFFS, LOCKERS FRONT & REAR
HYDRAULIC REAR STEERING, $ the full rear steer kit was $15-30k ALONE. The portals+lockers+rear steer would have cost $30-50k for the parts alone.
WARN 95OOLBS WINCH WITH REMOTE & PLASMA ROPE $2k
TYRES MICKEY THOMPSON BAJA CLAWS WITH SIDEBITERS 325/80 R16 $2k?

So we are up to $50-70k for just the big stuff.

The starting price seems very reasonable (unlike many others).

And the "show pony" tag Show me a rangie or disco with full chassis and body which would be more capable offroad???
See...thats the problem with parts of our forum being "public" and banter gets confused.....ie the Disco V Rangy V Fender banter we have in our club.

Many a time have we seen anyone of those vehicle types and made comment....hence my comment to Camo about another fender dreamer. Geez...where's all the backing for the top bloke who was selling a rangie for $50k+ or something and was on 4WD action.....fender owners/ lovers must be a more sensitive bunch .

Yes...I am aware of the tech spec and that there are some $$$ invested....I am also aware there's not one person here who would spend over $30k to buy that vehicle, not to say its not a wicked beast as to be sure it is. I will be sure to post only in GCLRO private area's with "in" jokes ,

    Regards

Fair enough, however a few of your fellow GCLROians seemed not to get your "joke" either???

Btw and OT - is the LROCB still active? There seem to be many GCLRO members on here however few LROCB members. I am somewhat out of touch...

I do, but then I own a Rangie and as you know Ben I don't take too much seriously. Some people need to lighten up I agree.

The GCLRO is a forum based club and started on AULRO and the rest is history. A fe ex-RRC members such as myself defected to the GCLRO a few years back and it's been great since (I won't air why I left in public, but many of my fellow club members already know this).

I'm still in the LROCB although not very active anymore (GCLRO do harder trips now, all the hardcore blokes in the Brissie club have buggerd off ). Yes they don't get on here much and are pretty quiet on the forum front.
