While this works okay, potential for the bolt to bend in the towbar assembly is a bit iffy to me. I've heard of it happening with the pin bending in the tow hitch, also some types of straps won't fit (like ARB straps are too bloody wide). Not saying it's wrong, I just personally don't like doing it.

I bought a proper recovery hitch that goes into the HR towbar toungue for $50 off e-bay for project tight ****. It's a good bit of gear and reasnobly priced as well. I might actually change the HR towbar over and put it on the blue beast, pending how energetic I am.

trav, its allright, he means that he has a recovery hitch with a 'real' bolt through the tow bar instead of the normal pin and clip.
i have an aircraft bolt - you won't bend a 100 ton bolt!!
scallops, well done. now for the other bits!!

No worries, I think I misread that.

100 ton aircraft bolt, I'll have a go at bending one. Remember, I can break anything

Am the only one with a camera who has mastered the art (and it took some mastering I can tell ya!) to upload photos?

Dearly love to see a pic or two of me stuck in that crossing where almost everyone was snatched out.

I think it's more like mastering the art of taking photos - looks like everyone with a camera has posted their pics, mate. But I'll be ready for you next time.
