A Toyota dealer, particularly a country one, would not have traded high on a Land Rover. They have brought it into stock owing them a considerable amount less than the asking price. Try an offer of $40,000, no trade, cash. If no result go back with the same offer a few days before the end of the month. Often a salesman/sales manager whose figures are poor has been threatened with the sack if no improvement.

Now now Bradley, you know scratches never bother me as the Cook can polish them out.
And the Cook does know and is unimpressed as she loves the Prado She's always shown such good taste before After all she did marry me!
If I thought they'd go for it Brian I'd offer 40K and in fact if they've still got it on Monday I might do that.
After all, nothing ventured nothing gained as someone once said.
A Tojo dealer servicing a Landie!!!!! I don't think so. The thought is horrible as they mostly hold them in contempt, know even less than stealers do about them and the opportunities that would give them while it's in the workshop don't bear thinking about.

Dust and water leaks are all part of being a Defender owner and are to be enjoyed.... the dust comes in and the water washes it out again!

Grab a beer, sit down and shut the eyes.....and imagine:

You didn't buy it The bloke down the road bought it.

Each day you drive past it. The beautiful beast is parked in his drive. Your stomach has that queezy feeling each morning when you look at that box-shaped, all conquering Defender.

You go shopping. Damn there it is, in the shopping car-park.

As you reach to open the door of the Japanese Gumboot (aka Prado) that damned feeling in the guts hits you again.

    It could have been yours.

Then you look again, another Defender is driving into the car-park, the owner of "The Defender that could of been yours" is about to open his driver's door, he turns to look at the Defender entering the car-park and they wave to each other. Yes, the Land Rover wave.

    No one waves to you.

No one cares about you or your Prado. No one notices you on your journey home. You see a Discovery coming towards you, this cheers you.

I'll wave, you say. And you do. The Disco driver doesn't even look at you.

Wake up quick Thank God it was only a nightmare.

You grab another beer and walk out to the driveway and sit. Just sit and look at the Defender that you virtually stole. The feeling in the stomach is total joy.

Yeah, you had a few nights sleeping in the doghouse and your mates are giving you a hard-time about your Palmolive dishwashing hands. Lucky she loves you. If your happy, she will be happy.

Stop it Barra1, stop it! Everything you say is true, I do wave at Defenders and no one waves back, I do look at them in carparks and you're 'orrible for saying all those things.
The one thing the Cook really misses is the Landie wave from one loony to another.......I just might try that one on her.
I may try a low offer tomorrow and see what happens.
    Alan.
