    Hi groucho, must be honest, seeing that firebox door open is enough to make my skin crawl, I hated working on steamers.

    BUT that pic of the 44 is great and a great class of engine.

    Considering their age, they were a huge benefit to the NSWGR, even if they did mean the end of main line steam.
