    Global warming hits Perth

    Perth has set 2 records.
    Dryest longspell on record,currently 72 days without rain.
    Hottest January average,33deg.

    A couple more months of this and then hopefully they'l start digging that canal and start getting some water from up North .....

    It actually rained here on sat 23 jan but it wasn't recorded. 2 afternoon showers.

    Perhaps it was highly localised though.

    While perth has "Global warming" the northern Hemesphere has a more than severe winter.

    Not a 'devotee' but the slowing of the Gulf Stream (which keeps parts of Europe warmer than it would be otherwise) is a predicted climate change outcome. Worse case outcome is a sudden mini ice age in northern Europe, which has apparently happened before.

    Gets exacerbated by all the snow on the ground reflecting heat. Quite believable if you saw the photo of England from space a couple of weeks ago when it was totally white from one end to the other:

    We were at rotto and it belted down for 15 minutes solid... could hardly see the end of the jetty at thompson bay... from the beach there... storm was good tho

    I think it has to rain in mount hawthorn for it to be recorded....

    Don't get too carried away with temperature records. The weather bureau has changed the recording stations in the last 10 years. Pretty hard to compare 'apples to apples', when the readings are coming from different places now.
