Apparently golf balls are covered in dimples to reduce drag, this enables them to travel through the air faster and straighter. Following last night's storm in Perth I will be examining the principle as it applies to the Land Rover Discovery series II.
Every panel is like this, however while every car around us had their windows smashed the Landy's windows were all intact.

1969 LWB S2a yellow, gone
1972 LWB S2a 5 DOOR wagon coming & GONE
1973 LWB S3 green Sadly GONE
1977 LWB S3 tabletop building

I heard the storm was pretty bad, the damage on your Landrover would write it off with insurance, wouldn't it?![]()
Na the insureance will probably go up now its faster.

I very much hope not Just put a brand new set of Michelin latitude Cross tyres on the car on Friday and have everything else tickety-boo, as they say it is exactly how I want the car (I mean the current set-up not the revolutionary new low-drag appearance)
Fingers crossed for some miracle of paintless dent removal.
The hail stones were between golf ball and tennis ball size, nastiest airborne lumps of ice I have ever seen
Well I'd suggest you start pulling things off of it...
That vehicle will be an economic write-off....
Paint-less dent removal doesn't work on Alloy either!
(Once upon a time everyone had carports, this would never have happened)
Cant wait to see every ones insurance premiums next year![]()
I would say that you wont see you disco any more. take everythin of it and even swap tyres if you can. that way your not loosing too much.
Why bother doing anything about it ? Wear it with pride, call it campaign
damage, just drive the thing and enjoy it.
You could even give it a cheap coat of camo paint and paint a purple heart medal onit. Or the British equivalent anyway or perhaps a sevice medal ?
Ya dont get rid of them because of little a cellulite, eh.
Tombie we were in no mans land when it hit and as I said every car on the road around us had all their windows smashed, we were lucky enough to keep the windows intact and so kept the deluge out of the car.
People were just sitting in their cars either crying or in a state of shock and for large parts of the journey from Shenton Park to Freo we had water halfway up the tyres and in some places nudging up to the bonnet lip.
If we weren't in the Disco it would have been a much longer trip home.
Sedans were floating down streets
You blokes have me worried now, in the last month for its 10 year birthday celebrations I got the airbags replaced, cooling system completely replaced, new wiring harness, new seals through the gearbox and as I said last week the new Michelins went on.
